Fallen Trees - Witnessing Existence

As I walk my local fields and forests I am ever so present with the abundant life that surround each of my steps.

Intertwined with this life force is the quiet contemplation of decay.

The symbiotic cycle of nature, the birth & the growth and the states of completion, rest and death.

This project came to me as I wondered a nearby park - a wild yet considered environment. But as I ventured into forests and dells, riverbanks and beach-scapes, I started to become fascinated with what was being left behind.

For another a story to tell.

As they rest there branches and there boughs, letting life permeate within there decaying bark and dense wooden bodies. Laid to rest. Baring no restraint nor burden. Resting so that the earth can breathe a little deeper, resting so that the earth can be nourished once more.
